Hosting a clinic

The host gets 10% of the tuition

The host needs to find a location for comfort to sit either with lawn chairs or furniture supplied by the location.  Fraternal organizations rent is affordable, school rooms, shops, large living rooms, large open garage. By having a couple of locations in mind the planning can adapt for attendance.

Bathroom availability if none, I will pay for porta potty

Room that can be quiet for lecture

Room without sunlight on a 4 X 6 dry erase board that the lessons will be taught on.

Power for the computer and projector

1 Table for setting bones and teaching aids

1 Table to set the projector on (this can be used for the table above)

Make a list of the students coming with their contact and email information

Tell the attendee’s to bring pictures of their horses hooves on a thumb drive, CD, or hard copy pictures and we will make a game plan on the trimming.

Figure out how we will eat lunch ie: restaurants, pot luck, or sack lunch

List of moderately priced motels

Is there camping available at the host site?

Most attending people come from personal contacts and friends of the host and others.  I will put an ad on the ABC Hoofcare website.

It is good to have some easy horses to let the students map and trim if they choose to try that on one hoof (2nd day).  The time is too short for a full trim per student.  This is to help cement the mapping and lessons learned with the footprint ring, baseline, and flexible gauge.
