The collages below are those I made up for the owner of two morgans..
This owner was ill and had trusted the farrier to be trimming correctly.
One pregnant mare was oozing pus from the boots rubbing raw the heels from
never having the boots removed and also from not bulb protection.
Though I was there just for the laminitic pregnant mare there was another horse I convienced to let me
take the shoes off. These are in the top of this series of comments sent to the owner.
The other horse was being used by a 4Her and had horrible shoeing creating FFS (forward foot syndrome).
The personality in both were very sweet. The shod horse became overly frisky after the de-shoeing, trim and
White Lightning treatments.
This was not a person I was taking on as a client but, was called in as an emergency for the founder brood mares lameness.
The shod horse ended up getting very comfortable quickly only to have the new farrier (I told her to not
use the one she had been using) put shoes on him.
Very frustrating as this is as they all are a very nice horse
This first collage shows how long the toe extended past a normal 1/3 2/3 balance.

Look at this collages first trim differences in just the body posture. He was able
to place his front legs and hinds in a natural position. Can you imagine what a
great horse he is to try to provide the rides and arena work requested of him.

I put a perpendicular line at the area of heel that was weightbearing in the shoes.
The to show this further I put my finger under the heel to show the entire leg is
not supported by the heel putting the stress to stand on the front of the leg.

The collages below are of the foundered pregnant mare that had so much disease
in the capsule that there was little integrity to the hooves. Pus was leaving the
coronary band at the heels, layers of sole shielded disease.
